All new wireless phones sold in the US are E911 capable. All of the phones that Verizon sells currently are GPS handsets. There is a second way that 911 information can be sent to 911 centers, but it relys on a triangulation method using the signal strength received from the phone to the nearest 2 or 3 cell sites. Don’t know of any carrier here in the States that uses that method. Hope this helps!
