Can Cox Cable track your internet activities if you use Wireless router?

I heard that if you set up the internet as wireless, you become pretty much anonymous on the net (people can’t track you down). Is this true?

Cox doesn’t track your activities, they only keep track of how much you have downloaded. If you’re above your cap then you’ll get an abuse warning, do it again and your internet service will be suspended.
A modem gives you an IP address and a router takes that IP address and gives it to the other pcs. Your IP address is traceable, in fact they keep records of everyones IP address and your router IP goes the same way.

No that’s not true. How could it be?

The only thing setting up a wireless network does is changes how your computer is connected to your router. NOTHING is different.

      No.
To become truly anonymous, you need a proxy.

      No.

It might be harder to PHYSICALLY track you down, but does not make you anonymous on the net.

In fact since the data medium is air instead of cables, it opens a potential new way to track Internet activities by nearby wireless packet sniffers. (although they aren’t associated ISP)

The government is tracking every person, all the time, man.
