Is Alarm System in Car Effective to Scare Thefts ?

I have got my car broken in twice within one year in the same neighborhood. Now, I need an alarm system. Theft took my sub-woofer in a SUV 8 months ago, and my car stereo and GPS navigation were taken this time. I do not know if these two are related. But I am surprised that this happened where houses were built close together. Anyway, does alarm system effectively scare thefts ? Were there any case that you or your friends still got stuff stolen from a car that had an alarm ? If possible, I would like to have a wireless camera that can monitor inside of my vehicle and watch through the internet. Is there such a system ?

well you don’t want to just scare them off the will just be back .. my advice is to install a alarm that has a pager unit . this way you know when your car is being tampered with before they get into it . when it triggered it dead bolts the doors . you can’t open from inside or out side . so there forced to brake a window and climb in and out the window. It also has a camera set up . it sent it to my pda or computer . I have one on my truck that works well . yes .. It is made by made by phoenix digital cost is about $300.
i don’t see them passing a speaker box out a window .. also i put multiple sirens inside the cab .. so it is so loud they can’t hear when the police or you are coming. I can’t stand a thief ..so i feel ya ..

The idea of a alarm is to not scare the person off, but to attract attention from people nearby. This way the person will be discouraged before the theft attempt, or better yet caught in the act.

It’s a proven statistical fact that car alarm systems will deter car thieves nine times out of ten.

An astounding eight out of ten vehicles stolen have no alarms or an inadequate system installed in the first place……
