What would you recommend for someone like me? Blackberry Curve 8900 or Apple iPhone 3G 8GB?

I have AT&T Wireless service. My contract has expired, so AT&T is offering me a new phone almost for free if I renew my contract for 2 years. (Sidenote: I would prefer to stay with AT&T than switch carriers).

I would prefer a phone that allows me to IM through gChat (ie. Gmail)… I don’t use Yahoo or AIM much.

Does the Blackberry Curve 8900 allow gChat? Does the iPhone allow gChat?

The Blackberry isn’t 3G… how much of a difference would that be for me? (I live in Binghamton NY).

Also, having a good GPS/mapping system is also important to me… would the Blackberry Curve 8900 be able to offer me that?

The Blackberry seems to have a better camera than the iPhone (3.2 megapixals vs. 2 megapixals).

The Blackberry also seems to have a better battery life, too.

I’ve also read somewhere that the iPhone is big on applications, but doesn’t sometimes hold up on basic phone features. How would this affect me?… I mean do iPhone users do have problems with their iPhone relative to making a call and stuff like that.

PS: It seems to me to go with the Blackberry Curve, but I just wanted some outside opinions to better help me make my decision.

Thanks!!!

RoqyBT GPS – Navigon UK – Ipod Touch Sat Nav

I bought the bluetooth gps receiver off ebay for £10 and also the roqyBT software from cydia that cost me around £7 for the full version. This software enables me to use any bluetooth gps receiver on the market to use sat nav on my ipod touch. In order to do this, you will need a jailbroken device. I have a Ipod Touch 2G with the winterboard theme from cydia ‘Leopard theme’. I have used TomTom and navigon on this device and im sure that there are more navigational apps out there that will be compatible in this method. i think this is a much better alternative than the other ‘gps360 from orange gadgets’.
