From how far can a laptop that has wireless internet connect to a wireless internet booth(modem) ?

From how far can you get connected to an internet wireless booth(modem…i think) from a macbook, or macbook pro, which has wireless internet connection. And which laptop has the strongest wireless internet tracking capacity?

Thank you!

Where to find either a very small Bluetooth speaker or small receiver to plug miniature speakers into?

We want to mount a wireless speaker (mono okay) on a shoulder strap to receive voice commands from a GPS program on a laptop. We have found a miniature pair of amplified stereo speakers (1"x1"x2.5") intended to plug into an iPod like device and are temporarily using them with a cable. Would like a speaker only (no mike needed) Bluetooth or Bluetooth with audio jack. Goal is to make enough volume to hear GPS over traffic while walking but not so heavy as to drag off shoulder. Earphones are NOT an option – blind person must hear environmental audio cues.
I trudged back and forth through Fry’s on the advice of several departments that demonstrated a complete lack of small speakers and of how Bluetooth functions. Radio Shack is better for small speakers and no trudging.
Person has no glasses and I don’t want to engineer (and build) a solution – I want a little box.

Turning a laptop into a chartplotter?

Where can I buy hardware that will turn my laptop into a chart plotter? I am aware there are numerous chart plotting programs, I am interested in the GPS receiver (must be wireless) and a card that will plug into the laptop…or is a built in wireless card enough?

Wireless card, Laptop, … GPS???

My friend and I do some DJ’ing so we got a wireless broadband internet card for his laptop so we can download requests if need be. It works fine. His laptop is pretty nice, runs on Win XP, plenty RAM, Disk Space, quick processor and so forth. Here is my Question: Is there a program he can download that will enable it to work as GPS Navigation for when we are on roadtrips??? I mean, its no biggie if it cant because we can always just use yahoo maps or mapquest or whatever, but a computer is a very powerful thing and I told him "I’m sure there’s some way to do it!" but then I didnt really know where to look. So I’m posting this question, then I’m going to go look while yall answer it. That way maybe someone will mention something i hadn’t found. :)

GO!

I have a laptop with wireless access. How can I find the exact geographical location of wireless access point?

For example, if I have a laptop with wireless accesss and it identifies some wireless networks (which I cannot find on a wifi website as access points), how can I find out the exact location of these access points in regard to my locaiton – distance to my laptop or direction ?

I am trying also to find out if there are any products (software or hardware) that can detect the area for which the wireless access point is valid) .

I would be grateful if somebody could help me, please.

Thank you.

I found a TomTom Wireless GPS MKLL device and car charger in the trash, what is it and how do I use it?

It’s a little device, no screen like the GPS devices I’ve seen before. So is it a GPS accessory?

If it’s it’s own device, how do I use it?
Well it lights up when I charge it, so apparently it works.

It was in the trash outside of a repossessed house I was cleaning up for the bank.

You’d be surprised what people throw away.
I’ve found wallets with money in them, cell phones, a laptop that just needed a battery cover, clothes, furniture, TVs, DVDs/players, 2 playstations… loads and loads of good stuff.
One person’s trash is another’s treasure, haven’t you ever heard that?
