i was wondering because people are saying that it will be available in 2010 to Verizon Wireless customers and then others are saying it is not because verizon turned it down once and from then on they are saying its not and others say it is so i was wondering if y’all knew anything about that and will it have those crappy Verizon apps or will it have the apple app store and ipod and safari not the junk Verizon Wireless has on it like their web and all that v cast crap like the apps that are already on there like the i tv and the other apps that is already on the Iphone 3gs and the compass and the gps system and somebody on wiki answers said that apple and vzw negotiated on it so i was wondering if verizon agreed to keep the app store or apple agreed to take out the app store and to change it with the other vzw junk

Can i connect a blackberry pear to a bluetooth gps unit and get gps on my phone?

I really want a Blackberry Pearl from Verizon wireless. I was looking online and found a few forums that said you could connect your blackberry to a bluetooth GPS unit and get GPS on your phone. Im wondering if this is possible with the BlackBerry Pearl and if the blackberry will still have to access the internet to use the GPS.

I also read something about tower triangulation to locate your self, does that access the internet as well?

Are Dallas area Verizon customers going to get some kind of reperations for the ridiculous outage last week?

Last week in the DFW area all Verizon customers were without service for 5 hours. Does anyone know if we are going to get our accounts credited or anything? I used Verizon Wireless for my cell service (my only phone) and GPS navigation so I couldn’t look up or call to get directions. IT was frustrating. I have friends that use Verizon Vios (?) so their TV , cell phone, internet and land line are through Verizon so they had no way of communicating with the world. And as everyone else has said, "so much for America’s most reliable network."

VZ Navigator or Standalone GPS?

I have a Verizon Wireless cell phone and I have been paying the a month extra for the VZ Navigator service. Im a installation technician and I use VZ Navigator almost everyday. I have thought about getting a standalone GPS but the problem I have is I would have to always carry it from my car to my work van and then back to my car everyday, since I could possibly use it for something else when at home. I also look at that I have given Verizon 0 so far for VZ Navigator where I could have bought a fairly nice GPS at that price. So Im just wanting to see what you guys would do if you were in my shoes. Also if I would get a standalone GPS what brand would be best a Garmin, TomTom or a Navigon. Is the Navigon street view that great like they make it sound? Thanks for the help.

Enable GPS on Verizon Wireless?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon Wireless. I would like to use the GPS feature to map my bike routes. I have two questions:
1. The internal GPS. I do not subscribe to the VZ Nav feature, and do not want to pay. I did set my GPS from "911 only" to "locate on" under the options – advanced setting. But the apps that I have found and downloaded (GPSed, GPS Tracker) do not recognize the GPS. The Blackberry Maps app does, and will track distance and speed,

2. Any good GPS routing apps that will work. GPSed and GPS Tracker do not seem to find the GPS. Blackberry Maps does, but only records speed and total distance, not a route to save. I am looking for something like MapMyRide, but free or a one time fee.

Which GPS device to get?

I’m am looking to buy a gps system, I am on a limited budget but I never realized how hard it would be just to find the right one. I have spent hours looking through the reviews and I am back where I started. I currently have the Verizon Wireless GPS and I really like it, but I want something more permanent. So far I have kind of narrowed it down to a garmin nuvi 265w and a tom tom 330s. If anyone has these or can give advice it would be greatly appreciated.
